Tired of cold, muddy feet? I hear ya! With all this nastiness outside we like to sit by the fire, eat chili and play find it. But the lack of warm sunrays and green leaves does not have to mean a lack of pretty pictures. Memorable portraits can be taken just as well inside in your home, where you pet is the most comfortable anyway. Last week I featured Port-A-Poo on Pet Product Tuesday. I got so excited about the idea that I had to get one myself. Then I fell in love with it. And now I am giving one away. Thanks to Nicole from Port-A-Poo one lucky winner can try it for themselves. For absolutely free!

It’s time for the Bissel Dog Photo Contest again! Every year the vacuum company, Bissel, runs a contest in which you can win great prizes. But best of all, the winner can choose a pet charity to which Bissel will donate $10,000. Now personally, I’d love for either the Pottawatomie County or Riley County Humane Society to win. But that is of course totally up to the winner.
The contest started at the beginning of this month and will run all the way through the end of march, 2010. But don’t wait until then to enter your dogs picture! Each week is a new voting period and a new chance to get your dog into the semi-final.
So in an effort to help any local dog charity I am offering to “donate” a free digital picture to my past and future clients. That means, everyone who has had their dog’s pictures taken by me will receive a free (low resolution) digital file of their favorite picture to enter in the contest. And since the contest runs until the end of march my offer is valid for any customer that is going to have their pictures taken until then. So just e-mail me the name/number of your favorite picture and I will make sure to send it to you asap!

As this is the last post of the year I wanted to thank everyone who keeps reading this blog and encourages me with lovely comments! I am very much looking forward to what 2010 will bring for Mutt Shots. More funny dogs, more great contests, more adoptions and most of all SUN!!!
And here are some of the things you can look forward to:
1. In January & February I will start off the year with a contest to support some of our local pet charities in which you can win some fun Mutt Shots prizes.
2. Over the year I will release select full size images for you to use as desktop background on your computer, to enjoy all the puppy faces on your desk all day long.
3. The Pott. County Humane Society and I are cooking up an awesome fine art doggy calendar for 2011.
4. More new pet products and doggy wisdom every week.
5. And so much more that I have not even thought of, yet.

The first ever Mutt Shots Contest ended this week and we have a winner who will soon be featured prominently on the blog. Trixie and her people will receive a fun portrait session. I cannot wait to meet them!
If you weren’t lucky this time or did not get to participate, don’t worry! Keep your eyes open for the next contest. I can already tell you it will start sometime in January.
